Katrina Jobs Blog
A Mississippi-based Internet marketing agency is trying to connect jobless victims of Hurricane Katrina with employers who have openings.
The name of the site is Katrina Jobs Blog, and the postings are for jobs all across the country and in various fields. A recruiter from Time Warner Cable, for instance, listed openings in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Indiana and Louisiana. The current job listings cover everything from housekeeping, retail sales and construction to nursing, technology and auto mechanics.
Potential employers also have provided contact information for applicants.
Find Katrina: website for locating people
Alex Kehr has put up a pretty basic,
but functional site for locating people. Find Katrina has about 2500+ people in its database thus far.
Official sites for Katrina Victims
I just thought I might at well put up the links to a couple official sites
for victims of hurricane Katrina.
Craig's List getting in on the act
I've long been a fan of Craig's
List. It has been around since the beginning of the Internet. It turns
out that the New
Orleans Lost & Found section has turned into a place for people to post
Lost & Found ads for people, family and friends.
Gulf Coast News creates site for reconnecting families affected by Katrina
Gulf Coast News has also created
a site
for reconnecting loved ones that have been relocated/displaced due to
hurricane Katrina. Kudos to Ken Burton
for the good work.
Site for locating victims of Katrina
These things are popping up everywhere, but I wanted to highlight a site
devoted to helping friends and family communitiates with loved ones lost
or missing. The site also contains links to other important sites. I'll
be adding these links here.
Ghost.
